# Strength Affect > Strength Affect is a personal training gym in Northfield, Illinois, on Chicago's North Shore. Founded by Sterling, a strength coach with over 10 years of experience, 30+ certifications, and 15,000+ hours of hands-on coaching. Strength Affect exists to bring high-level movement training and strength and conditioning principles to the general public — not cardio classes disguised as strength training. ## What We Do Strength Affect builds individualized, assessment-driven training programs for adults of all fitness levels. Every client receives a customized plan rooted in real data — not cookie-cutter templates. We offer one-on-one personal training and small group training (up to 4 people per session) at our private facility at 314 Happ Rd, Northfield, IL 60093. ## Movement-First Philosophy We find exercises that fit the individual, not the other way around. Using each client's assessment data, we identify their strengths, weaknesses, and movement limitations. From there, we build a customized program that meets them where they are, addresses their limitations, and still helps them get stronger. No one gets a generic program. Every exercise is selected because it fits that person's body and goals. ## The Client Journey The process starts with a free intro session. During the free intro, we learn about the client's goals, background, and injury history. We then conduct a movement assessment to identify limitations and an InBody scan to establish a baseline for body composition. After the free intro, we build a customized roadmap covering training, mobility, cardio, nutrition, and recovery. The client then begins training in either a small group or one-on-one setting, depending on what we determine is the best fit for them. ## Check-Ins and Progress Tracking After 30 days, every client does a formal check-in to measure progress. Throughout their training, clients are coached in person every session, progressing in strength with individualized programming. Clients also receive monthly progress emails that show the measurable results of their training — strength gains, body composition changes, and movement improvements. ## Tools and Technology - **InBody Scanner**: Used for body composition analysis and tracking client progress over time including muscle mass, body fat percentage, and segmental lean analysis. - **Force Plates**: Used for strength testing, power output measurement, and tracking progress objectively. - **Strength Coach OS**: A custom software platform used to track all client data, build individualized training programs, and show clients the measurable progress they have made over time. ## Programs - [Personal Training](https://www.strengthaffectns.com/Personal-training): One-on-one coached strength training.
